Cut the fennel into four pieces, add butter,
salt and potatoes if required and place in a
Pyrex face up. Cover the dish.

of the bread has been toasted, turn over and
toast the other side. Remember: keep the
toast warm at the bottom of the oven until
you are ready to serve it.
